As a performer

My musicianship is influenced by my curiosity and respect for what others do. Becoming a musician requires courage, and my musicianship has helped me overcome the challenges essential to becoming an excellent piano performer and music teacher. It allows me to recognize that every student and every audience has a unique voice.

It grants me versatility, allowing me to read music with understanding, arrange pieces, shape tone quality, express emotions, and perform in solo recitals as well as chamber music. At the core of my musicianship is the search for my own voice in every context, guided by creative impulse and social engagement. I believe there is no limit to what can be accomplished when you commit to growth and lifelong learning.

As an educator

As an educator, I strive to be comfortable recognizing my privileges, strengths, and weaknesses, with the intention that this self-awareness will foster similar abilities in my students and enable them to engage with their learning processes.

I recognize that students' learning processes are always at different stages, and I aim to identify where each individual is in their journey to build a learning path from that point.

I create an atmosphere of creativity, mutual support, and spontaneity during class, which I believe prepares students for effective learning. My goal is to evoke, stimulate, and develop their skills in a way that positively impacts their overall well-being.

As a researcher

My research is guided by the belief that knowledge is not generated by keeping it to ourselves but by sharing and disseminating it without reservation. Engaging in research requires dedication, and it has helped me grow as both a music educator and performer. It allows me to contribute to a broader community of learning.

My research is rooted in my commitment to teaching, my persistence in pursuing projects, my discipline in producing work for journal submissions, and my dedication to presenting at conferences and recitals. It enables me to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and remain open to new perspectives.

It grants me continuity between teaching and scholarship, supporting the integration of practice and theory. The core of my research lies in curiosity, collaboration, and the pursuit of knowledge that enriches both myself and my students. Networking with colleagues worldwide is an important part of what I believe contributes to being a music educator.
